Wanted: Wikipedia Editors for My Route (volunteer basis)

As part of My Route’s legacy Sampad is aiming to preserve information about the heritage around Stratford Road on the free online encyclopaedia, Wikipedia.

According to the Alexa study of 2014, Wikipedia is the eighth most visited website and is one of the most used open source references available on the internet to communities across the globe.

By writing and editing articles within this vast resource, you can share accurate information about topics that matter to you via an accessible and free channel.

Sampad is now offering a great opportunity for volunteers to learn how to use and write articles to meet Wikipedia guidelines.

Working with an experienced Wikipedia trainer, volunteers will become Wikipedia editors, writing articles on eligible buildings, people and places relating to Stratford Road over the last 70 years.

For more details please read the volunteer brief or contact us on 0121 446 3260 or info@myroute.org.uk.

To apply please complete the application form and return it to info@myroute.org.uk. with the title ‘Wikipedia Volunteer’.

The deadline for applications is Friday 10th October 2014.
