Richard Trengrouse

Richard Trengrouse has undertaken significant research into both Birmingham history and his family ancestry. Both his maternal and paternal ancestors came to Birmingham around the late 1860’s/early 1970’s, with one side settling in  Brighton road in Balsall heath, and the other  owning a drinking establishment near Highgate Road.

In this interview Richard shares some stories about his family, who owned several shops on Farm Road until the late 1960’s/early 1970’s, and moved down the Stratford Road towards Hall Green. He also shares his expertise on some of the sites and people who originate from the area.
